Simply Cinnamon Apple Chips {Paleo; Vegan; Sugar Free}

See no, speak no, be no apple {head}.

Just eat apple, really.

…and really, don’t just eat apple. Eat these delightful apple cinnamon chips. They’re simply apple and cinnamon, and simply sugar free.

The whole family will love these, guaranteed. Better and cheaper than any store bought chips, and so incredibly easy!

I know I’m not the first one to post an oven-baked cinnamon apple chip recipe, but I may be the first to have so much fun with it. Just look at me–don’t I look like I am having an absolute ball?

Actually, it was Kathy Pollard who inspired this recipe, so all the credit goes to her lovely self! Check out her blog and her guest post on my blog. It’s well worth the visit, I can assure you. She’s very beautiful inside and out (which would be expected of anyone on a steady diet of homemade apple chips and Bible study)!

Simply Cinnamon Apple Chips {Sugar Free}

Makes 2 trays/ one small bowl

Ingredients

3 Green apples

Cinnamon, to taste (I used 2 heaped tsp to three apples, but I really love cinnamon)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 160C
  2. Slice apples very thinly (I didn’t bother coring or skinning because skin and cores make the apples pretty! Plus the skin is the fibrous part)
  3. Place apples in a large mixing bowl, sprinkle with cinnamon to taste (I personally cannot get enough cinnamon! I used about 2 heaped teaspoons to 3 apples)
  4. Line a tray or two with baking paper, and place the apples on, distancing them about one finger space apart (definitely don’t let them overlap each other)
  5. Put tray(s) in oven then immediately turn the heat down to 130C.
  6. Cook for 45 minutes and then turn apples.
  7. Cook for another 45-60 minutes, or until browned and no longer moist (thicker slices will take longer)
  8. Leave to cool for 5-10 minutes. As they cool, they will get crispy!

Now have a spectacular time with your apple crisps.
