The Worthy Woman Project

Where Is My Titus 2 Woman?

It was about a year ago I looked around me for about the 1000th time and lamented the fact that I had no older women about me to give me advice. No woman who was actively teaching me the things of Titus 2.

I can’t tell you how many times I have longed for an older woman to take me under her wing and teach me. Despite what you may believe, we really do want that–us younger women want older women to teach us how to live, love and serve.

I came to realise however, that though I am not in an ideal situation, I do not have any excuse not to receive instruction–so I decided to glean the advice myself. If the Titus 2 women were not going to come to me–I was going to go to them!

“Follow the winners”

When I was young, my mother taught me a this simple saying that has gained more meaning as I grow older. There is a lot of wisdom in her advice. Even Paul said to look for and follow good examples (Philippians 3:16, 17).

As I am trying to be the best wife, missionary and daughter of God that I can be, I realise that there are others who have been where I am and can help me to grow through their experience.

“Worthy Woman Wednesday” is part of my project to glean as much good advice as I can from those whom I consider to be the real heroines of this world. The winners. Those winning souls to Christ. Those who are choosing the excellent things. The lights shining in the darkness. The truly beautiful women. Those worthy of honour and praise.

“She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her …a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:27-30)

These women are such an encouragement to me. I realise that, like me, they are just women–and because they are winning I can too. I hope they will be as much of an inspiration to you.
